DUELO
Release: Norfolk Film Festival, 2021
Log-Line: A conflicted young man becomes an aggressor after experiencing trauma.
Synopsis: Cole, a conflicted young man, witnesses the death of his best friend. As he struggles with traumatic grief and proving his innocence on the day of the funeral, he must also come to terms with the guilt of his actions.
Background: DUELO is an emotional and piercing coming-of-age exploration of the strong emotions experienced during the grieving process after unexpectedly losing a loved one or experiencing a traumatic event at a young age. Focused on exploring the concept of grief as a bubble that bursts projecting all our emotions outwards, the film aims to depict an allegorical journey of the stages of grief, as our protagonist, Cole, attempts to pick himself up, find inner peace and acceptance of the loss through a combination of anger, pain and love.
